Spare Parts Stock Reconciliation
An aerospace company was required to keep a number of Chinook helicopters in service at all times. High levels of unavailable parts could impact on the ability to repair aircraft in a timely manner. The aerospace company partnered with RGIS to verify the parts available.
REQUIREMENT
An aerospace company was required to keep a number of Chinook helicopters in service at all times. High levels of unavailable parts could impact on the ability to repair aircraft in a timely manner. So the customer required RGIS to help establish:
- Validation of the number of parts in stock
 - The value of the stock items
 - What was the condition of the parts in stock
 - Where the parts were located
 - To cover multiple military and third party secure locations

SOLUTION
The aerospace company partnered with RGIS to create the custom reporting required:
- A bespoke program was created to facilitate the many and varied streams of information required
 - Variance reports were generated in real time
 - A rigid schedule to include all military and third party secure locations was put in place over a tight time frame
 - All locations were counted at the same time

RESULTS
The aerospace company found that by outsourcing the helicopter parts inventory project to RGIS, the customer was able to:
- All locations including all military and third party secure locations were counted
 - Identify a substantial number of parts which were not located where expected
 - Access global data at the same time due to RGIS scheduling of counts
 - More readily identify where there was an urgent and immediate need for parts
 - Determine which parts needed replacing due to the condition of the part
